Silent Posted May 8, 2014 at 07:41 PM Report Share Posted May 8, 2014 at 07:41 PM I'm from the Netherlands, I probably won't get to reviewing until July. If that's no problem I'm interested in: An Elementary Course in Scientific Chinese(1)+MP3 基础科技汉语教程——听说课本(上)(附光盘1张) I've a some background and an interest in Sciences. Didn't get to scientific Chinese as I considered it hard. This book looks very do-able considering the pictures. So, my top pick. Tales from China’s Classic Essential Readings---Tales from Hundreds Surnames(Chinese-Spanish edition) 中国蒙学经典故事丛书---百家姓(西语注释) I think the classics are essential for a deeper insight into Chinese culture. This book may provide it. A bonus (or handicap) the Spanish looks as challenging to me as the Chinese, so it will help me with two languages. Gems of the Chinese Language Through the Ages-The Stories Behind 100 Chinese Idioms (Chinese-English) 博古通今学汉语丛书—典故100(汉英对照) Idiom is hard in any language. A little background on where they come from makes it easier to remember and understand their real meaning.

Base7 Posted May 9, 2014 at 04:31 PM Report Share Posted May 9, 2014 at 04:31 PM Hi all, Great initiative! I realize I don't have much chance, but I would be interested in reading and reviewing Common Chinese Patterns 330 汉语常用格式330例 A Compendium of the Usage of Complex Chinese Words 汉语疑难词解析与活用 I'm in the Netherlands. I'm at an intermediate level of Chinese, and I think these books could be very helpful to gain better insight into the correct usage of phrases and words. Thank you! xiaokaka Posted May 9, 2014 at 09:59 PM Report Share Posted May 9, 2014 at 09:59 PM Hi, I'm in Sweden and would like to review, 1. Graded Chinese Reader 2: Selected, Abridged Chinese Contemporary Short Stories+MP3 汉语分级阅读 2(附MP3) I can't get enough of graded readers, but I haven't tried this series before! 2. A Compendium of the Usage of Complex Chinese Words 汉语疑难词解析与活用 Looks like a really interesting book, that I can learn a lot from. 3. Wise Men talking Series-CONFUCIUS Says 老人家说系列丛书—孔子说 I know way too little about ancient Chinese wisdom in general and Confucianism in particular, and this is a great opportunity to catch up! HunterSTyler Posted May 10, 2014 at 10:17 AM Report Share Posted May 10, 2014 at 10:17 AM Hi, I'm a Spaniard living in Austria and currently preparing HSK5. I'd like to have the chance to review the following: 1. Wise Men talking Series-CONFUCIUS Says老人家说系列丛书—孔子说 2. Tales from China’s Classic Essential Readings---Tales from Hundreds Surnames(Chinese-Spanish edition)中国蒙学经典故事丛书---百家姓(西语注释)3. Tianjin42 Posted May 10, 2014 at 01:04 PM Report Share Posted May 10, 2014 at 01:04 PM What a great idea! Thanks in advance. Here are my preferences. I am in Beijing. Business Chinese Series--A Practical Chinese Writing Course 商贸汉语系列教材-汉语应用文写作教程 I am working in a Chinese office so I would like to use this book and put some of the suggestions to the test. Business Chinese Series—Speak Business Chinese Fluently + MP3 商贸汉语系列教材——商务口语流利说(附MP3光盘) I think this would be useful for the same reason as the above. Graded Chinese Reader 3: Selected, Abridged Chinese Contemporary Short Stories+MP3 汉语分级阅读3(MP3) This book seemed like it could provide a link between readers and slightly more difficult material. And if the others are over-subscribed then I would be happy to switch any for: A New Chinese Writing Course(English version) 新汉语写作教程 (英语注释) I'd be delighted to write some reviews for these as required. roddy Posted May 10, 2014 at 04:00 PM Report Share Posted May 10, 2014 at 04:00 PM Ok folks, I think we've got all we need, and we're going to stop taking new requests now so that we can try and get your books out to you soonish. Obviously not everyone is going to get the books they wanted - apologies, but as Elina explained there are second and third rounds to come, so better luck then. Michael H Posted May 10, 2014 at 04:25 PM Report Share Posted May 10, 2014 at 04:25 PM I am in the US. I would be interested in reviewing the following books: 1) "A compendium of the usage of complex Chinese words" Most of my Chinese studying is passive (reading and listening), so I am not very confident about expressing myself. In particular there are different Chinese words which look similar (or might even have the same translation in a Chinese-English dictionary) but are used differently. I hope this book might help me learn how to use these words correctly. 2) "An elementary course in scientific Chinese" Since I do science for a living, I would be interested to learn more about how scientific concepts are expressed in Chinese. Also it is nice to do practice reading in a new language on topics with which one is familiar.

Popular Post elina Posted May 14, 2014 at 01:09 AM Author Popular Post Report Share Posted May 14, 2014 at 01:09 AM After discussion, considering there’re only 3 free copies for each book, so if one person chose the books which are very popular, also claimed by others, we try our best to give priority to his first choice among his three books, but we cannot do this for everyone, because some books are really hot, they’re several persons’ first choice. And this time, we will also give books to some new forums members.
