m000gle Posted May 7, 2014 at 03:34 PM Report Posted May 7, 2014 at 03:34 PM I recently applied to the Global Internship Base summer program run by Beijing Normal University's School of Social Development and Public Policy. It seems like a great program for those more focusing on China's social policy, governance etc, and for those hoping to take part in field research while still having optional language courses available. It would also be good experience, and a foot in the door, for anyone considering a Masters in field. The program information is available at the links below: Program Description: http://bnulxsh.com/jieshao/GIB2014.html Course Syllabus: http://bnulxsh.com/jieshao/GIBCourseSyllabus.html BNU SSDPP Homepage: http://international.ssdpp.net.cn/ I've looked through the forums, here, and while there's lots of info about other programs (especially the CSC scholarship and language programs) I've yet to see anyone mention this particular one. Has anyone taken part in the GIB before, or is anyone planning on participating this year? Also, does anyone know of similar programs, especially where a field research component is included, at other Chinese universities? I'm not limited to English programs, as I was a language student for two years under the CSC scholarship program and have professional working proficiency already; but for more research focused programs, sticking with my first language may be preferable, for now. 1 Quote
