gougou Posted April 23, 2005 at 09:42 AM Report Posted April 23, 2005 at 09:42 AM Sometimes, when checking the new posts, I find that halfway through the list, all of the posts are marked read, regardless of whether I actually saw them or not. I use my browser's back function to get back to the 'New Posts' page instead of the link at the top. Could that be connected to it? Quote
roddy Posted April 28, 2005 at 01:48 PM Report Posted April 28, 2005 at 01:48 PM I just spent 10 minutes trying to replicate this problem, but couldn't. If you can spot any pattern that might explain it let me know. There's an explanation of what all the icons mean at the bottom of each forum page - ie scroll down here Quote
gougou Posted May 3, 2005 at 12:39 PM Author Report Posted May 3, 2005 at 12:39 PM Ok, didn't happen for a while... First I opened the New Posts Page, then opened one of the new posts, then read some stuff on other pages in a different browser window. After a while, I returned to the chinese-forums window, read the opened thread and hit the backspace key to get back to the list of new posts, which by this time had all been marked as read. Not so serious in this case, as the list didn't vanish, but at other occasions, IE crashed and, when reopening the page, the list was gone. Would it be possible to mark posts as read manually, and ideally exclusively so? Quote
roddy Posted May 3, 2005 at 03:14 PM Report Posted May 3, 2005 at 03:14 PM Ok, I've set the session length to 1 hour, which is the same as it was on the original board. However, if you close (or crash) your browser then your session will end and everything will get marked read. Roddy Quote
