Outofin Posted April 23, 2005 at 02:22 PM Report Posted April 23, 2005 at 02:22 PM 好莱坞华人星光谁升华 Found a article about the Chinese actors/actresses/directors in Hollywood. It has been a pattern that when one successes in Chinese world, he or she moves to Hollywood for his/her career, but only to find he can't do as good as before, like Jackie Chen, Jet Li, John Wo among others. The reason seems obvious to me. What makes a star a star is himself and, maybe more important, a group of staff supporting him. Is money the main reason for them to move to Hollywood? Even a second class actor may make more money than a HK star. Since China is becoming a market of HK movies, I hope we fans could really support our celebrities here. I by all means wish Chow won't move to Hollywood. Now he could sell his movies globally. Please just keep him here and make more fabulous movies. Quote
39degN Posted April 23, 2005 at 05:42 PM Report Posted April 23, 2005 at 05:42 PM Take Jim Carrey even didnt get Hollywood's(Oops, I shoud say Oscar's) favor, I don't see the necessity they need Chow. Though personally I cant help to imagine that a movie co-starring by Carrey and Chow would be interesting. Quote
