Translation help - political lingo

Hello everybody,

could someone be kind enough and help me with these sentences:

1-1989 Tiananmen massacre -

2-Four generations living under the same roof - how does that sound? - 四个世代居住在同样屋顶下

3-Upon his return to Beijing he started his career as a professional writer.

I am working with a rather "political" text :wall , so mmight come up with more questions! Thank you all!

I don't think you need to use 个世, 四代 is okay.

Maybe this sounds better 四代居住在同屋。

2. Also 四代同堂.

For number 1, if you paste it here, you would get a very standard translation. However, you should be sensitive on how it should be presented, depending on who will read your writing. People might consider it more appropriate to use incident "事件'. I've even heard it being called 1989 年的那一場政治風波.

Hey all, thanks for the translations. I am aware of the sensitivity of my first sentence, but since this a language related website, without any political agenda, I felt free to ask.

Thanks again!

I think you'll find June 4 often referred to as simply liu si 六四, which you can more formally call liu si tu sha 六四屠杀 if the context allows you to say "massacre" or liu si shi jian 六四事件 if you need something less pointed.
