Tianlongprc, where did you find the results at Peking? Can you please send me the link?

@Dr david

one person described it briefly in this topic: http://www.chinese-forums.com/index.php?/topic/39094-csc-scholarship-2013-general-discussion/

You are normally not allowed to change universities, but it is possible. By possible I mean nearly impossible. A fellow Canadian classmate was only allowed to switch schools after getting a recommendation from 大山 himself. If you don't know who 大山 is, then look at it this way...have your country's ambassador talk to the head of the CSC on your behalf.

This is for the Chinese University program under the CSC Scholarship, so unless you applied directly through the university, you shouldn't be too worried!

@Pavidevi,, hi,, yes I got news from Zhejiang University, but I was not on list as accepted student since I already accepted by Northeast Dianli University. I am doing to process moving to Zhejiang University if CSC allows and host university too..

@HSK1 I didnt get any information from the university. And can u send me the link where u saw the results if possible.

and I have applied for Doctoral Degree.

@HSK1 thats interesting. Let us know the result.

Ive asked CSC about the same inquire. But they told me that its no longer possible to change Uni (after you got approved by CSC to any other Uni) since documents were already sent back to the Uni and they should forward them to me. They also told me that there is only one exception from this rule that if Chinese Embassy in my country will make this request on my behalf (in my case its impossible since i applied directly to Uni and not through Embassy quota).

Anyway looking forward for your case

@Dorimi,, I have heard that news. Since I applied directly to university, Mr Tang Li from Zhejiang University suggested me to asked my host university (NEDU) who first accepted me for changing university. Even I know that It will be impossible, but I am going to try :). I will tell you back if I get good news or not..

Today I received the official information from the Chinese embassy and they have accepted my application for CSC scholarship.

.

1) What is your native country? Finland.
2) Where did you apply? CIMO (Finnish agency which is in charge of forwarding the applications together with Chinese embassy).
3) When did you apply? March 2014.
4) When was the deadline? March 17th.
5) Have you applied for the scholarship before? No.
6) What program did you apply for? Bachelor's degree of Chinese language + 1 year of preparatory studies.
7) What schools did you put for your preferences? 1. Sichuan University 2. Sun Yat-sen University 3. BLCU (Beijing Language and Culture University).
8 ) Did you apply for your school of choice beforehand? No.
9) What agency number did you use? Chinese Embassy in Finland.
10) Where did you get your physical done? Local clinic.
11) Did you get your documents notarized? Yes.

12) Were you accepted for the scholarship, if you were not then why? I was accepted!
13) Did you receive any university admission letters (prior to receiving a scholarship)? No.
14) How were you notified? E-mail, but the officials in charge of this told me they will mail me further instructions soon.
15) When were you accepted/rejected? July 1st.
16) What school and program were you accepted to? BLCU for both preparatory and degree studies.

I feel relieved to have received the acceptance information so early. They probably haven't yet informed bilateral applicants in most countries. Although I was hoping to get enrolled into Sichuan University this result is satisfactory and BLCU of course has great reputation among Chinese learners. I just like Chengdu more than Beijing. But I am very happy for this anyway, it is very generous from Chinese government to give this scholarship.

Good luck to everyone waiting for results, I'm sure those will come soon!

@Dr david, @HSK 1, et. al.,

For what it's worth, here is a thread of someone who went through the process of trying to change schools: (link).

Let us know how it turns out for you.  (And if you succeed, please let us know how you did it! :) )

Hello, comrades!

Have anyone here applied Soochow University/Nanjing Normal University?

If yes, have you received any information, regarding results?

I applied for a MA psychology program but the scholarship annoucement says I was awarded a CSC scholarship for a MA in philosophy. Is it possible to change the program the school chose for me? Or do I pick classes and such when we enroll at the school?

Apparently the first batch of scholarship students in France have already been informed that they got the scholarship. My name is not on the list posted on the chinese embassy website, but there are only 20 names on it  (http://www.education-ambchine.org/publish/portal116/tab5722/info104953.htm). Is there still anyone else in here awaiting an answer from the chinese ambassy in France?

I'm not sure how many scholarships are allocated to France, I've read 80 but it was only on the website of some french university. Hard to know when we will have informations about the second (and third? fourth?) batch of students either...

I have a question for you lot who know more about CSC. Since I did request for one additional year of preparatory studies I'd like to know if it includes just Chinese studies or do I need to test on other subjects as well such as maths? I will later study a language degree so it wouldn't make much sense to study natural sciences but China doesn't always make sense either.

Posted

@Razumihin, to my knowledge, the preparatory study is only Chinese language instruction and does not contain other "general education" classes.  (So you wouldn't be taking any natural sciences or world civilization.)

For those who have received a CSC acceptance letter, how much of a stipend did you receive?  I recall there was quite a bit of speculation on this issue...
