Ok so apologise if this is long winded, I had applied to BFA in 2013 and got excepted I deferred the offer at the time as the fees were pretty hi, I then noticed they had it listed on the BFA web site as a csc course for 2014, so I got all the documents together and was then told by the BFA that it was no longer csc approved. As I already had everything done I decided to go ahead and list it as a first choice to see what happened and I listed Beijing communications university as my second. I have hear from the BFA and they have told me that CSC are offering me 10000rmb of my tuition and will cover my accommodation ect. I have also heard from communication university to tell me the degree I applied for was canceled and would I Be interested in a journalism degree. I have not heard anything officially from CSC yet and when I try to log in to check my statues my email and password are not recognised, should I be able to check my status online? I see a few eu people have heard I thought I had got a scholorship, should I be worried ?

Hi everyone ! I received Chinese Government Scholarship to a PhD at Beijing Normal University. Did anyone receive CGS to study at BeiShiDa?

@shuoshuo

I applied directly to the school not through an embassy. Does that change things or make it easier?

@Charliefarrell

so you are from Ireland but you applied in Belgium? Then I am not sure but you should contact one of the embassies  in Ireland or Belgium because to my knowledge CSC itself is not going to contact you (at least that's how I understand it), it is done by an embassy or consulate in your country. The results should be announced until the end of July, so in principle it can happen tomorrow or even in three weeks' time, there's no telling.

I've just called my embassy, they said they're forwarding the results to home universities of the candidates. So if by mid-July you still won't have heard from target uni or embassy, try calling your university, they might know something. It might be just my country but it's worth giving it a shot.

@All,

Sorry for the long layoff, it wasn't intentional. I was putting together the documents needed for VISA application :) .

Congrats to those who have been confirmed!!!

Congrats in advance to those who are still awaiting confirmation, You will surely get it. Like they say, its China so you need patience.

More on University of Jinan(UJN), Jinan, Shandong.

Apparently, the quota for my University (UJN) for the CSC- University Program is 9 and it is for postgraduate studies. And all 9 of us has been contacted and hard copies delivered.

I am not sure about the embassy quota (or is it the bilateral method?) as I did not apply through that means, perhaps some peeps might be sent there. So, if there is anyone out there that chose UJN during bilateral application and has been approved by CSC, I bid you Welcome :mrgreen: .

Registration is between August 30 and September 2nd according to my admission notice.

Till I pop in again, Peace.  8)

Mazi.

Hello Everyone.

Is here anyone who applied to UIBE (University of International Business and Economics)?

I'm applying to the one year scholarship program via local Chinese embassy to these universities:
1) UNIVERSITY OF INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS AND ECONOMICS,
2) CENTRAL UNIVERSITY OF FINANCE AND ECONOMICS,
3) CAPITAL UNIVERSITY OF ECONOMICS AND BUSINESS.

but I still have not got any answer.
When I brought the applying documents to the embassy the secretary told me that I will be informed in late July so I have to wait.
question: what does one-off settlement subsidy mean? and how about the food, is it included? Thanks.

Hope all of us will study in good universities, wish you good luck

@Charliefarrell

Is this production degree that international program "english-friendly" that BFA started last year?

Are you trying the CSC scholarship to get into this program for this year?

Last year I have applied for BFA bachelor degree in the regular film direction degree, at that time they have just opened this new english taught program in film production. I felt tempted to try it, but then I had already applied for CSC (which deadline was in march) and BFA's application was around April if I am not mistaken. So I had to go through two different processes with different deadlines so I ended up giving up of the production degree. In the end I didn't get the scholarship either as I noticed that here their priority is PHD, Master and language courses, since I applied for bachelor degree there was no room for me. So this year I am applying again for BFA but for a master degree instead.

So I guess if you want to apply for this english taught program this year you have to apply through BFA again, no?

Btw, which degree you have applied for Beijing Communication University, the one they said they have cancelled?

Have you tried Central Academy of Drama also?

@ ladyforez I too am in the same boat. I know that I have to have paitence, however that is not something I am good at. I am currently homeless as I expected to be in China by now. So I have to do some couch surfing/staying with family a couple days to a week at a time. I graduated with my bachelors in a different state and had to return home as I could not sign a one year contract to stay in my place where I was living before. With that said, if you have time, you can go read the results from last year and that can give you some insight on how this process works from start to finish. I know that I have been doing that in addition to re-reading my Chinese Government Scholarship award letter from the Chinese consulate and the pre-addmission letter I was given from Peking University in the hopes it will make me feel more secure.

Tianlongprc - you applied with a pre-admissions notice and an award letter...that's really good.  What dispatching authority/agency number did you use, and who did you send your application documents to?

Posted

@shoushou I applied through the chinese consulate in Chicago as well as sent my documents to them. I don't have the agency number right now I will post it soon.
