Thank you shuoshuo! I am planning to transfer to Beijing or to another city before I go home and my stay in China will be up to the last day of July~ But from the admission notice I received, it is written that my studies will be up to September, with no date specified. But, with my CSC application, it is written that my duration of study is up to July 15 2015 only. O.o

Hello to everyone!!! :)

I would like to ask two very important questions for me and I would be really grateful to anyone who could answer! :)  I am a full CGS student and I will study for 5 years at BLCU (1 year preparatory courses and 4 years Bachelor's Degree). So, the questions are:

1) Will my residence permit be for 5 years (as many as the years of study) or will I have to renew it every so often? And if I have to renew it, am I obliged to return to my country to do it? I don't want to return to my country every year, since the distance and the amount of money for the air tickets are HUGE!!! Therefore, will I be able to renew it from China, possibly through my country's Embassy in China?

2) Are the meals in the school restaurant covered by the scholarship, since I am a full scholarship student? Or do I have to pay for my meals on my own, using the money from the monthly living allowance?

Thank you very much in advance for your help and replies!! :D  Looking forward to hearing from you!! :D

Quick questions about the visa!

Is it okay if my health examination form thing isn't stamped? And also, it says the JW201 form must be signed, but mine (and I imagine everyone else here) is just stamped with no date written or anything. Is this acceptable?

@ geometry

Normally the Foreigner Physical Examination Form should have the signature of the doctor who examined you, the official stamp of the hospital in which you did the examinations and a photo of yours also stamped with the stamp of the hospital. Did you include a copy of your Foreigner Physical Examination Form without stamps in your scholarship application and they accepted it without problem?

As for JW201, you normally have to sign it and write the date in the space next to the signature of the Chinese MOE, where it says "Signature of Applicant". The Chinese MOE doesn't put anything else on it, except for its stamp.

Hope I helped you! Don't hesitate to ask anything else! :)

Those of you who have received the admissions documents: is there an update on whether they will be increasing the student allowance? I heard that PhD students will get 5000 rmb per month and Masters will get 3000 rmb/m. Is there any truth in this? Thanks.

Dipen - Thanks a lot for letting me know. My ticket will also be arranged by the embassy.  Any chance you know when they will schedule it for? My university told me that I have to be there by the 28th (registration date) but I fear they will schedule the departure some time around mid-August. :-?  The later the better! :D

I finally got my JW201! Quick question, in the packet it mentioned needing the original copy of my foreigner physical exam for my visa application and also for my residence permit. That's an issue but the bigger problem is I sent the original to the CSC with my application. Will they accept a photocopied form with my visa and residence application? Or do I really have to go back to the doctor and try to get a copy certified?

Thanks for your help! I've got a lot of questions but I'm excited!

Isaac L - You will have to re-do it because CSC will not return your documents.  After you re-do it, only give out copies (i.e. a copy to the Chinese embassy when you apply for visa). You will need the original when you are applying for your residence permit.

For students who applied directly have to book their own tickets or any other way? Just curious
