How would you say 'first', as in...

How would you say 'first' in the sentence, "If you wanted to spend a lot of money, would you consult your boyfriend first?"? Please could someone translate for me.

Would you say 先, or 就, or 之前? I am particularly interested in casual spoken chinese here. I seem to recall 就 can be used to mean 'first' in some situations, but I can't really remember when, or how it is put into a sentence.

:help Thanks!

In my grammar book they use 花 for "spend", though I can't really recall anyone saying it in daily life.
