Hi, I wanna get a tattoo and I need help translating the words I want which are good qualities I have. I would like to know what Chinese character represents the word "stress" (as the daily life stress), strenght (as a personal thing not physical), ambition..I know that in Chinese some words are represented by 2 characters, but if I could have it in 3 that would be perfect. As I said those words are the best qualities I have and I really wanna have the right meaning tattoed.

Thank you so much!

Why do you want a Chinese tattoo? And have you read this? Especially this?

1) Tattoos. I think generally people on here will recommend you don't get a Chinese character tattoo, and please do have a good long read of Hanzismatter to see why. There's a very real chance of getting something incomprehensible, ugly, and permanent.

Remember these things when thinking about a tattoo in Chinese:-

1) Using Chinese characters does not impart any special meaning or magic.

2) A lot gets lost in translation

3) Having a list of words tattooed on you does not make sense, Chinese characters in pairs or even threes can change the meaning dramatically.

4)The tattoo artist you choose is probably not a skilled Chinese calligrapher and you could could end up with an ugly mess.

5) If you want to share your message with the people around you, use a language you can all understand.

6) As with all tattoos, think before you ink and think again and again.

I am not sure why you would want the word stress on you permanently and forever, surely you would want to be reminded of something like peace, tranquility etc. but there is no accounting for the reasons people want to brand themselves with a strange range of sentiments.

If you must have a tattoo, choose a nice font in your own language, use colour and /or pictures and create something that is yours and is unlikely to be wrong.
