Searching for a particular movie: Ancient Times, Queens and Hermits..?

I've been searching for a Chinese Movie my family had once watched a few years back, I think it was fairly recent too.

 

It's about a Queen/Princess who has to take the throne now that her father has died, but there is a lot of argument over who should be "emperor".  She decides to run away into the Jungle where she is met by a hermit who takes her and treats her for her injuries/sickness.  They live together, fall in love, and are happy, until one day Assassin's hired by someone come to the "tree house with ropes" home and attempt to kill the princess and the hermit.  The hermit dies, she heads back to the kingdom where she rightfully takes her place and a battle ensues.  At the end of the movie, she reminisces about her love with the hermit, who is now dead.

 

sad story, I loved that movie.

 

If anyone could figure it out, it'd be great.  I can't read or write in Chinese, I can only speak earnestly with Cantonese, and currently am thinking about learning Mandarin.

Swap the genders around and that's basically the premise for 武侠 (English name Dragon).
