Tomas Tomas Posted July 1, 2014 at 04:31 AM Report Posted July 1, 2014 at 04:31 AM What are the fewest number of weekly class hours I can take and still get a student visa? (X or X2) I'd like to not waste money buying classes I don't want just to get a visa. Quote
Johnny20270 Posted July 1, 2014 at 06:44 PM Report Posted July 1, 2014 at 06:44 PM I'd be interested in this answer. I really prefer one-on-one lessons but it becomes very costly to do a lot. Quote
Skunq Posted July 2, 2014 at 08:53 AM Report Posted July 2, 2014 at 08:53 AM In Beijing I was studying 4 months at a school which was 1.5 hour every day Monday to Friday. They told me that was the minimum to be considered a full-time student and thereby eligible for a student visa. However, from my experience, the majority of private schools have a fixed package which is typically two classes of 1.5 hours, so 3 hours every day Monday to Friday. You can try push them to give you a cheaper package with less classes, but I think it will be hard. Quote
zhouhaochen Posted July 7, 2014 at 08:38 AM Report Posted July 7, 2014 at 08:38 AM @Skunq: when were you in Beijing and got a student visa for studying 7.5 hours a week? Before or after the X1/X2 visa was introduced? Quote
Skunq Posted July 8, 2014 at 02:51 AM Report Posted July 8, 2014 at 02:51 AM It was after the major change in visa rules, which I suppose is what you're referring to. Quote
