Hi,

I have regular msn conversations with a friend in Guangzhou. She uses "xixi" all the time but I can't find this in my online dictionary. She explains it as equivalent to smiling but I fear we are losing something in translation

I love the pinyin slang so any help would be most appreciated - don't want to be too shi san dian

嘻嘻 - Chinese for 'tee hee' I guess. Kind of a giggling / tittering sound.

Thanks Roddy for extending my pinyin, I've gotta be a little less er bai wu when it comes to the slang

Hehe, even I myself is not used of "xixi" since my nickname is xixi and whenever someone types this to me, I see it as calling my name...
