roddy Posted July 17, 2014 at 10:43 AM Report Posted July 17, 2014 at 10:43 AM Short notice, but hopefully we'll get a few folk out. Myself and Realmayo are on board. There's no specific plan, but it'll be Thursday 24th July Central London location After work time - say from six onwards Probably either in a pub which does food so people can eat if they need to, or if the weather's nice perhaps in a park? Who's interested? Apologies for the short notice - I've been meaning to do this, and am only getting around to actually organising it in the week before I leave the city. 1 Quote

geraldc Posted July 17, 2014 at 01:41 PM Report Posted July 17, 2014 at 01:41 PM It would be interesting to finally meet some of the members in real life. I've pencilled it in 1 Quote

imron Posted July 17, 2014 at 02:01 PM Report Posted July 17, 2014 at 02:01 PM How nice of you all to celebrate my Mum's birthday! Quote
Yang Chuanzhang Posted July 17, 2014 at 04:52 PM Report Posted July 17, 2014 at 04:52 PM I'll be there! If the weather is still nice next week, I would prefer going to a park. Quote
Vivi MENG Posted July 17, 2014 at 07:55 PM Report Posted July 17, 2014 at 07:55 PM Not sure about the schedule that day. But I'll come if I'm free! Quote
siledouyaoai Posted July 17, 2014 at 09:48 PM Report Posted July 17, 2014 at 09:48 PM I'd like to come along, but can't be sure yet if I will be free. Should know next week Quote
Kenny同志 Posted July 18, 2014 at 03:15 AM Report Posted July 18, 2014 at 03:15 AM Next time, arrange a meetup in my village. Quote
imron Posted July 18, 2014 at 04:17 AM Report Posted July 18, 2014 at 04:17 AM There's nothing to stop you arranging one Quote
Kenny同志 Posted July 18, 2014 at 05:47 AM Report Posted July 18, 2014 at 05:47 AM But who's coming? Just kidding. A meetup in Changsha might be more realistic. Quote
roddy Posted July 18, 2014 at 01:34 PM Author Report Posted July 18, 2014 at 01:34 PM Three definite, a pencilled-in, and a few wait-and-sees. Not bad. I quite like the picnic in the park idea. I'm thinking Russell Square - nice little park, near to a couple of tube lines, small enough nobody will get lost trying to find us, few supermarkets and sandwich places nearby for people to get food, and if it rains there are nearby pubs to retreat to. Plus I'm quite often nearby anyway. How does that sound, and does anyone have any alternative suggestions? Yang Chuanzhuang, where will you be coming from? Will need to see what the weather's like (if it's like today I'll be relocating us to besides the chiller unit in the Brunswick Centre Waitrose). Quote
adrianlondon Posted July 18, 2014 at 05:18 PM Report Posted July 18, 2014 at 05:18 PM How irritating. You're all meeting up less than 5 minutes walk from my flat and I'm not going to be there! Next time I'm in London for more than just a weekend I'll have to copy this idea. Quote
Melanie1989 Posted July 18, 2014 at 05:53 PM Report Posted July 18, 2014 at 05:53 PM I was hoping that there'd be a meet up in England, but not the opposite end of the country! Am i the only one who's stuck up north alone? I'd love to meet other people who are interested in China, but no-one's bothered up here. Japanese rules the north! Quote
Shelley Posted July 18, 2014 at 07:35 PM Report Posted July 18, 2014 at 07:35 PM Sounds like its gonna be fun for all those going. i am not able to travel to London at such short notice. But I would love to come to town and go to Gerrard St and spend an afternoon browsing the bookshops, clothes shops etc. So if anybody ever plans one of these outings, I will do my best to get there. Enjoy and we expect lots of photos of happy smiley faces. Quote
johnk Posted July 18, 2014 at 10:11 PM Report Posted July 18, 2014 at 10:11 PM I would love to go, But I don't think I can swing time off work next week. I will see what I can do, if I can I will go. Quote
Baron Posted July 19, 2014 at 09:51 AM Report Posted July 19, 2014 at 09:51 AM I'm not around much at the moment so can't make it. Have fun. Quote
zhouhaochen Posted July 19, 2014 at 10:45 AM Report Posted July 19, 2014 at 10:45 AM If they get more than four, than we have to do another one in Beijing to top that. No way there are more Chinese Forum members in London than Beijing. ChTTay, what you say? Quote
