Hello. A Chinese (Mandarin) client of mine recently called me her "sempo." She was paying me a compliment, but she could not explain what this word means. Does anyone here know? Thank you in advance for your responses.

As a wild guess, maybe it was Cantonese and it was sum por, great aunt/auntie

I don't think it is a Cantonese word because it is stressed that it is Mandarin as following

maybe sempo =婶婆

But it is a little wierd for me here if so. :conf:conf:conf
