Question for the China-goers from past years of the CSC Scholarship (or whomever else would know this):
I'll be studying at Sichuan University next year, and am currently booking my flight to Chengdu. As my preferred date the flight there would be Saturday 30th, I'm thinking: are the student offices generally open on Sundays? Since I'd have to register there and get my room and stuff (mostly a place to spend the night would be nice...).

Thanku

(Oh, and sorry of this q has already been answered somewhere. I searched for it but couldn't find anything.)

It won't be open, but you may be able to prearrange for someone to meet you and get you into your room.

My suggestion would be to stay in a hostel and let the staff enjoy their day off.

Usually they won't be open, and not on Saturday either. Personally I would fly on a different day, but Fanglu's suggestion of a hostel also works of course. Gives you a day of acclimatising and resting after the flight before you need to do stuff.

And if money is tight, you could always check out couchsurfing.org, and see if someone would put you up for a night or 2.
