Can someone help me translate two names from hebrea to traditional chinese. The first name es Gabriela and the second name is Nora. They mean "divine force" and "beautiful as the sun". Thanks in advance. :-) Quote
skylee Posted July 21, 2014 at 12:59 AM Report Posted July 21, 2014 at 12:59 AM By "translation", do you want to have the Chinese names reflecting the meanings or similar in pronunciation? Usually you can't have both. Quote

Shelley Posted July 21, 2014 at 02:09 PM Report Posted July 21, 2014 at 02:09 PM oh dear, please do not think of having these things tattooed on you in Chinese. Having it in Chinese does not impart any kind of special meaning or magic. Even if you get the characters right (which in my opinion is always difficult) the tattoo artist may not be a skilled calligrapher and your tattoo could end up looking a mess. Go look here http://hanzismatter.blogspot.co.uk/ If you use characters that sound like their names they may have undesirable meanings, if you choose characters that mean the same as the English meaning of their names you could end up with some very odd combinations. Why not have them done in your own language, pick a nice font and colours and have it done well and you will be so much more proud of them knowing exactly what you have got and people will not always be asking "what does that mean". Please before you ink think, and think again and again. 1 Quote
