Is my tattoo even in Chinese?

Judging by the lotus image(?), whoever did the artwork meant for your tattoo to say "karma" in Chinese; in a Buddhist context the character 業 (pronounced ye4) means karma & is the traditional form of 业 。

Thank you so much. Yes I asked for karma at 18 I am now 24 and questioning the meaning!

Bear in mind it also means many things besides karma, see here.  In modern day usage it's commonly used to mean 'business'/'industry'.  It also looks like it was written by someone who didn't know how to write Chinese (though is better than some of the other examples that get posted here).
