國語詞典 and 辭源 can save this, but does anyone have it in their vocabulary?

土茯苓 is a very specialised term used in TCM. 辭源 can save it but for a medium-sized dictionary like 國語辭典, it may not be a good idea.

Anyway, how about we make a rule where one can only post one word per post, and wait for someone else to post before posting again? That way people can use tactics to end a chain (e.g. previous person ends with 論, say "論壇" expecting "壇宇" as the most common word that begins with 壇, and when someone says it, say "宇宙", ending the chain). That way this thread will be more fun and participants will be encouraged to enrich their vocabulary.

I agree.. I thought this would be a good way for people to practice the words they know and learn new ones on the way.

Let's continue with

苓耳

for those who want an explanation:

it's identical to 木耳 the fungus translated as woodear http://www.ettoday.net/news/20120719/71661.htm
