Passive voice in Chinese

Hello Everybody,

I get so confused with the passive voice in Chinese, I am quite confident with 把 structures but 被 and 由 still confuse me

For example, if I want to say "they were introduced for the first time" could I say 他们第一次被介绍了?

Thankyou!

Marco

I decided to post a long summary of passive constuctions on the old two-year-old thread referenced above. For some reason, my post shows up, but the thread did not update on the list. Perhaps I should have posted it here.

Not sure what's happening there. Fixing着呢

Strange. I managed to get that topic up to the top where it should be by splitting off Altairs post and then merging it back in again. I couldn't duplicate the problem (I made a post in a very old thread and it jumped back to the top as it should) but there was certainly something strange going on.

Let me know if anything similar happens (best to pm me or use the contact form, as I can't be sure I'll see a message posted in-topic.)
