Hi there! I would like to make sure that I understood the meaning of 柳暗花明 correcty. If I am not wrong, it is a 成语 coming from an old poem: the literal meaning is "dark willow trees and bright flowers" but it can also mean that when all hope is lost, you see a light at the end of the tunnel (reference: http://teachingenglishinchina.wordpress.com/2013/09/27/visualized-chengyu/).

Did I get the right meaning?

It's generally used when someone has been going through a hard time and then suddenly something good comes their way. Every cloud has a silver lining. Another way to express this is 雨過天晴。
