Hi,

I've been wondering how to say this in chinese ever since I saw Matrix Reloaded movie, and have not yet found an answer to this day: "You do not truly know someone, until you fight them".

I attached a picture of what I think might be it, but not quite sure.

Could someone help me? I would really appreciate it!

Best regards,

a passionate student of the Chinese language,

Leo

According to baike it's 不打不相識 ,with the locus classicus being 水滸傳,Ch. 38. ” 常言道:不打不成相識 ” is how the original reads. I don't have my copy with me to double-check though.
