You take the benefit and you have to work for him or return him a favor. It's like guanxi, 拿了他的好处就要为他办事.On the contrary, 佔他的便宜, 他 only get loss. And the one who 佔他的便宜 may or may not use some tricks to deceive him. But the tricks could be legal and the loss may not be so great. Otherwise, it would be 诈骗 defraud.
