有人在文章裡說,此句原文乃中文諺語,但我苦思半晌仍不得。要是哪位知道,請不吝賜教。謝謝。

It's probably not worth racking your brains all that much, it wouldn't surprise me if no such saying exists, people (Americans at least) love to make up their own sayings and claim they have a Chinese provenance. Whenever I see a probable example I feel like making a note of it, if I weren't too lazy to do so I'd probably have a nice, long list by now. Of course, on the one hand Chinese isn't my native language and on the other it's hard to prove a negative, still and all it's a common phenomenon in English (the American variety anyhow).

Yep, very common for people to attribute made up phrases to different cultures or people, in order to add an air of authenticity the phrase wouldn't otherwise have.

这个原话来自《三国志·吴志·吕蒙传》注引《江表传》:“士别三日,即更刮目相待。”

意思就是说,这个人已经经历了很多,学习了很多东西,你需要用发展的目光看他,而不是原来的眼光。

 

来自于一个故事:鲁肃继周瑜掌管吴军后,上任途中路过吕蒙驻地,吕蒙摆酒款待他。鲁肃还以老眼光看人,觉得吕蒙有勇无谋,但在酒宴上两人纵论天下事时,吕蒙不乏真知灼见,使鲁肃很受震惊。酒宴过后,鲁肃感叹道:“我一向认为老弟只有武略,时至今日,老弟学识出众,确非吴下阿蒙了。”吕蒙道:“士别三日,但更刮目相看。老兄今日既继任统帅,才识不如周公瑾(周瑜),又与关羽为邻,确实很难。关羽其人虽已年老却好学不倦,读《左传》朗朗上口,性格耿直有英雄之气,但却颇为自负,老兄既与之相邻,应当有好的计策对付他。”他为鲁肃筹划了三个方案,鲁肃非常感激地接受了。
