Xiaoxiongwv Posted September 6, 2014 at 03:33 PM Report Posted September 6, 2014 at 03:33 PM Hello everyone. I lived in Beijing in 2010-2011 and have lived in Guangzhou for over three years. I am moving back to Beijing in June as I like the city more and have adeeper connection to it. I will be taking my husband who happens to be from Hainan. The first thing people ask me is about the pollution in the capital. I know they are greatly exaggerating, but has life really gotten that bad since I have been there? Quote
ChTTay Posted September 6, 2014 at 04:22 PM Report Posted September 6, 2014 at 04:22 PM As per the photo below, sometimes "they" aren't exaggerating. In summer it's okay (AQI is 32 right now) but in winter there are pretty regular "airpocalypses" ... I would say 100 to 200 was a good day but I remember regularly seeing 200-500 though last winter. The odd 500+ few dahs thrown in once in a while. It's probably easier to remember the really bad days though. Quote
aone Posted September 10, 2014 at 02:35 AM Report Posted September 10, 2014 at 02:35 AM I have classmates, friends there, what they told me is not as that bad. Besides, since you have made up your mind to go back there, what else can stop you? Quote
