oceancalligraphy Posted September 16, 2014 at 07:43 AM Report Posted September 16, 2014 at 07:43 AM Here's my calligraphy area. Apparently this is what it looks like in between sessions (and after taking supplies out of my bag). 2 Quote
Shelley Posted September 16, 2014 at 10:02 AM Author Report Posted September 16, 2014 at 10:02 AM @yst what a great place to hang brushes. I went and spent money on a brush hanger with little hooks and a wooden frame, it looks nice but i could have saved a bundle Knew I would learn something from this thread as well as it being interesting. @OneEye so tidy, I am envious, i think it reflects on how tidy and organized your brain must be. My desk is as chaotic as my brain, always more than one thing on the go. Quote

No, it's more like a desperate struggle to keep it from reflecting the madness within. It's a race against entropy (both the desk and the brain). You haven't seen all the wild scrawling in the notebooks. 1 Quote

anonymoose Posted September 16, 2014 at 01:08 PM Report Posted September 16, 2014 at 01:08 PM I also have a copy of Genki. Quote
Shelley Posted September 16, 2014 at 03:40 PM Author Report Posted September 16, 2014 at 03:40 PM I am struggling to find the post with Genki, is it my eyes or my brain? Quote
oceancalligraphy Posted September 16, 2014 at 04:47 PM Report Posted September 16, 2014 at 04:47 PM I improvised a brush hanger since I didn't think I'd have room for a real one. I thought I'd buy one later, but it just didn't happen. ^_^ I think the post with Genki was in the "shelfie" thread? Quote
Shelley Posted September 16, 2014 at 05:02 PM Author Report Posted September 16, 2014 at 05:02 PM Ah yes, interesting how this was the one book picked out of all of the ones there. Quote
OneEye Posted September 16, 2014 at 09:31 PM Report Posted September 16, 2014 at 09:31 PM Genki I is on my desk, in this thread. Genki II is on my shelf. Quote
Shelley Posted September 16, 2014 at 09:56 PM Author Report Posted September 16, 2014 at 09:56 PM I see or rather i don't, I can see it on your shelf but the books on your desk are in shadow and I can't quite read the titles. Is this something for Japanese or is it something I should know about and as usual I am slow in keeping up Quote
OneEye Posted September 16, 2014 at 09:59 PM Report Posted September 16, 2014 at 09:59 PM Yeah, the sunlight makes it difficult to see. Genki is a Japanese textbook. Quote
Shelley Posted September 16, 2014 at 11:03 PM Author Report Posted September 16, 2014 at 11:03 PM Yes it does, how is the Japanese going? Quote

Shelley Posted September 17, 2014 at 09:56 AM Author Report Posted September 17, 2014 at 09:56 AM That looks like a nice big desk to spread out out on skylee. It is interesting seeing people's desks because most have their computer there too, so I imagine this is where they are chatting on Chinese forums, its almost like putting a name to a face, when I see posts from people who have posted their "deskie" I will be able to think that this is the surroundings they are doing it in. French Posted September 17, 2014 at 10:02 AM Report Posted September 17, 2014 at 10:02 AM I mostly use my tablet to browse and post in forums (it's also on my desk when I'm studying ) Quote
OneEye Posted September 17, 2014 at 10:07 AM Report Posted September 17, 2014 at 10:07 AM how is the Japanese going? Eh, it's going. Not as well as I'd like, but that's how it always is. 1 Quote

Lu Posted September 17, 2014 at 05:52 PM Report Posted September 17, 2014 at 05:52 PM @Skylee, given how you keep your real life very much off the forums, it feels strangely personal to see a picture of your desk. (And I wish I kept mine that tidy.) I considered taking part in the shelfie thread earlier but when I took pictures of my shelves it felt like too personal (or identifyable?) a thing to put on the internet. Passing on this one as well I'm afraid. My desk is horribly messy anyway. 1 Quote
Shelley Posted September 17, 2014 at 08:33 PM Author Report Posted September 17, 2014 at 08:33 PM @Lu it is a shame but understandable you feel this way. I am not sure anyone could make any use of the picture of my desk to find out anything I don't want them to know. Should I worry? I don't know but I don't think I will Quote
