Alex Whiteman Posted September 13, 2014 at 05:56 PM Report Posted September 13, 2014 at 05:56 PM I want to go somewhere this coming National Holiday - but I'm a bit worried about everything being overcrowded to the point of. . . well. . . getting worked up by the usual Chinese-crowd things and not really enjoying it. . .This would be in Guangdong province or nearby. I was thinking Guilin for a bit, but it sounds like it's going to be insane.Any alternatives?Any experiences of travel during this time? Quote
jobm Posted September 14, 2014 at 03:39 AM Report Posted September 14, 2014 at 03:39 AM Me too, because it is a one week holiday. I am afraid that even the tourist attractions here are closed. Quote
obscuritea Posted September 21, 2014 at 03:25 PM Report Posted September 21, 2014 at 03:25 PM Also curious about this! I know everyone's traveling everywhere pretty much during this time, but are there any particular places where there should be comparatively less people traveling to?? I don't want to waste the week-long vacation but I also don't wanna have too much trouble with buying tickets and lodging or having the destination be utterly and completely overrun with other visitors either. gato Posted September 21, 2014 at 03:52 PM Report Posted September 21, 2014 at 03:52 PM Not really. All touristy places inside China will be extremely crowded over the Oct 1 holidays. Wealthier Chinese generally try to travel outside the country for these long national holidays. Quote
