Can you sit down in a 铺子?

In the book I'm currently translating, two people own a 胡辣汤铺子. I looked up 胡辣汤 and found a nice translation, but now I'm hestitating how to translate 铺子.

So my question, especially to our native speaker members: if you think of a 铺子, do you picture something with seats, or a place with only takeout?

铺子 just a place selling food or something else. Refer to the related goods/services before you translate it, as for 胡辣汤铺子 you can translate it to " Hu soup snack bar"  while 药铺 can be translated in to Pharmacy.

Thanks both!

As I understood it, 胡辣汤 is actually 'spicy pepper soup' (the owners, in this story, are called 晁 not 胡). I know that a 铺子 is a small place that sells things. Aone, do you think a 铺子 that sells food normally has tables? Or is it usually just a roadside stall?

Some may have tables; some don't. They are usually small houses and in some cases, small and simple structures.

A roadside stall, IMHO, can't be called a 鋪子

Edit: Wait, if the stall is part of a small structure, it can be.

漢典 says a 鋪子 has to have a 門面 to be so called.
