gorae Posted May 13, 2005 at 02:44 AM Report Posted May 13, 2005 at 02:44 AM I have been told that with my "pay as you go plan" all I need to do is get my Sidekick 2 unlocked, and buy a simm card in China. I will then be able to dial direct to all 50 states. Can anyone confirm this? Quote
roddy Posted May 13, 2005 at 02:54 AM Report Posted May 13, 2005 at 02:54 AM What do you mean by your 'pay as you go' plan? If you are getting your phone unlocked (get that done in the States, phones here are never locked, so chances of finding someone to do it are slim) and a new SIM, then your current PAYG plan is irrelevant. If you have an unlocked phone and a Chinese sim card, then you'll be able to make whatever calls that SIM card lets you. My Shenzhouxing PAYG card lets me dial the UK direct (although you can almost here the China Mobile accountants giggling as my credit bleeds away). I think contract SIMs may need to have international dialing activated, which possibly involves paying a deposit. Quote
