wibr Posted September 26, 2014 at 02:34 PM Report Share Posted September 26, 2014 at 02:34 PM There aren't that many ressources for German -> Chinese with traditional characters, so I thought I might share this here. I found the book while browsing the language section (not that I don't have enough books already... ) in a Taiwanese bookstore (eslite). It's an illustrated dictionary for Taiwanese who learn German. I ordered it at http://www.books.com.tw/products/0010611592, check out the link for more information, some pictures of the illustrations and an overview over the content. Since the intended usage is Chinese -> German: - no pinyin or bopomofo - a couple of pages about German pronunciation and grammar - all explanations in Chinese - supports one of those audio pens (Live Pen), have not tried it but it would probably provide German audio - Focus on Germany However, most pages just show many objects as pictures along with the German name in a large size and the Chinese in traditional characters a little smaller, so it's perfectly usable for German -> Chinese. The first chapter is all about Germany (food, geography, sights, ...) but the last chapter is about Chinese culture, so you won't have to miss out on stinky tofu ;-) It also comes with a DVD with mp3 audio and a flash application. Audio: One file for each (double) page, alternating German and Chinese + number in the book with short breaks in between, clear pronunciation I haven't tried the flash application but while poking around in the folders I found that they actually provide the whole thing in a digital format. The pages as jpg can be found in /GGraph_01/GGraph_01/Illustr/pic/BG and all words with their translations in /GGraph_01/GGraph_01/Illustr/txt/Illustr.txt. I attached a small python script which I wrote to convert the Illustr.txt to a pleco format. Since .py is blocked for attachments, you have to rename it yourself (.txt -> .py). The result may not be perfect, though. The dictionary contains 3225 words using 1859 characters. Feel free to ask any questions! Kurztest: 德語圖解字典Ein Bilderwörterbuch aus Taiwan für Taiwanese die Deutsch lernen.
