Old tattoo.... never really knew what it meant.

I got this as a first tattoo when I was 19.... everyone was getting Chinese characters so that's what in all my teenage brilliance thought I should get. 14 years later I still have no idea what it actually means so if anyone could help me it would be greatly appreciated. Already have another tattoo picked out to cover it if need be.   Thank you in advance
