LinZhenPu Posted January 15, 2017 at 02:36 AM Report Posted January 15, 2017 at 02:36 AM Get a friend in China to help you out with this. You'll need a Chinese mobile. (I'm in China atm) Quote
889 Posted January 15, 2017 at 07:12 AM Report Posted January 15, 2017 at 07:12 AM But most people don't have extra mobile numbers hanging around for others to use, especially now that the screws are tightening on compulsory registration. Quote
LinZhenPu Posted January 15, 2017 at 10:16 AM Report Posted January 15, 2017 at 10:16 AM Here in Harbin it's possible to get a 临时手机卡。If someone really needs a Chinese mobile number, contact me. Quote
Hopkins Posted January 15, 2017 at 01:44 PM Report Posted January 15, 2017 at 01:44 PM When I registered, I used my non-China phone number by clicking on the country code in the dialog and selecting my country. Quote
New Members railgun216 Posted June 11, 2017 at 01:12 PM New Members Report Posted June 11, 2017 at 01:12 PM Hi! I got a problem. Today I logged into my baidu account, which is after quite a long time. I realized that the site now demand phone verification code. So I filled in phone number(not belong to china), sometimes it said my number wasn't right, sometimes it worked, yet the verification code never came. I've tried logged in using weibo and QQ but I'm just stuck in the phone number part. Do you guys know any solution? Thank you! Quote
New Members nachtwesen Posted January 22, 2018 at 08:57 AM New Members Report Posted January 22, 2018 at 08:57 AM Hi folks, came here through the search about that Chinese captcha required to sign up for Baidu. Well didn't read the whole thread now, just the first pages that made the impression that the only way is to find somebody who can read Chinese. Hmmh. We have so many nice little technological helpers these days. Like OCR (text recognition) -> http://www.i2ocr.com/free-online-chinese-traditional-ocr Just make a Screenshot, cut that captcha out (interestingly it's not even scrumbled, probably they think that the majority of spammers is in the West, or something..?) and let that service do its job. Within some seconds you have the result ready for copy & paste ;) Just that apparently baidu doesn't accept any new registrations at the moment.. (百度正在进行系统升级,暂时不能提供服务,敬请谅解 - means: Baidu ongoing system upgrade, temporarily unable to provide services, please understand) -- Also it's possible to get virtual phone numbers of probably anywhere one could want - just some are (nearly) for free, others are more complicated or expensive. About China a quick search found this: https://tollfreeforwarding.com/virtual-phone-number/china/ Quote
