Flickserve Posted October 29, 2014 at 01:12 PM Report Posted October 29, 2014 at 01:12 PM Hi, Sorry if this is a simple answer to this Just trying out pleco flashcards on android (on trial) and I am trying to enter a combination word. The word is 坏球 huài qiú, which means a broken shuttlecock (a term used in badminton). Even 坏羽毛球 doesn't work (but that is rarely used in speech) I have to enter the two words manually and when I try to use 'convert to dict-based card', it says no dictionary entries. So that means I cannot get the pinyin nor the audio on to the flashcard. How can I get the pinyin and audio for the combination on the one card? Quote
mikelove Posted October 29, 2014 at 01:14 PM Report Posted October 29, 2014 at 01:14 PM Go into Settings / Search Interface and set Unknown Word Handling to "Card" - that will add an option at the top of a list of breakdown search results to create a card out of your search term with the characters / Pinyin / (if you've enabled it) Cantonese pre-filled. Demonic_Duck Posted October 29, 2014 at 01:23 PM Report Posted October 29, 2014 at 01:23 PM Incidentally, not in any way to discourage you from posting here, but Pleco also has its own dedicated forum: http://plecoforums.com/ Mike is pretty hot about replying to threads regarding his product on here, though. Flickserve Posted October 29, 2014 at 06:35 PM Author Report Posted October 29, 2014 at 06:35 PM Thanks Mike. It wasn't so intuitive but I managed it in the end. This is what I did (for anybody else on android pleco 3.2.2) Settings>dictionary search>search screen (scroll down)> other options> unknown search>custom card Will post future queries on the pleco forum Quote
