xyz123abc Posted November 4, 2014 at 05:36 PM Report Posted November 4, 2014 at 05:36 PM could you please tell me if this recording is clear? It comes from neospeech hui16 voice. (I know the word because I typed it. But the sound output (attachment) doesn't quite sound as I would expect. I use this resource (tts voice) while building my flashcards) TEXT.mp3 Quote
TechKatz Posted November 4, 2014 at 05:49 PM Report Posted November 4, 2014 at 05:49 PM Sounds like 绿色, isn't very clear though. Why don't you use real recordings from forvo or Chinese pod glossary? Quote
skylee Posted November 4, 2014 at 06:19 PM Report Posted November 4, 2014 at 06:19 PM I think it means "green colour". But it seems that the "l" in "lv" is missing. 1 Quote
xyz123abc Posted November 4, 2014 at 08:29 PM Author Report Posted November 4, 2014 at 08:29 PM yep, the text is 绿色 You got it right, I assume it is clear enough. Quote
Demonic_Duck Posted November 4, 2014 at 10:29 PM Report Posted November 4, 2014 at 10:29 PM Is neospeech hui16 the same one that you can get on pleco? Anyway, in this particular case, I wouldn't say there's a problem with the “ü” sound, more with the fact “色” is coming out with a neutral tone rather than a fourth tone. Also the fourth tone of “绿” doesn't seem to go down as far as it should. Quote
xyz123abc Posted November 4, 2014 at 10:51 PM Author Report Posted November 4, 2014 at 10:51 PM It's a voice like these ones http://www.nextup.com/TextAloud/SpeechEngine/voices.html#naturalvoices only from a different company http://www.neospeech.com/products.aspx when you hear it once, it sounds like 绿色 as it should, except there is a bug in the beggining that covers the "l" sound. BUT if I play it in a loop, my brain eventually hears it CLEARLY say "pizza", no kidding! Quote
Lu Posted November 5, 2014 at 10:22 AM Report Posted November 5, 2014 at 10:22 AM She says ǜse, while you probably want lǜsè 绿色. Quote
陳德聰 Posted November 5, 2014 at 05:04 PM Report Posted November 5, 2014 at 05:04 PM Mm... I actually thought the first syllable sounded really weird and the 色 sounded normal. If you listen to just the second syllable, it's clear and correct. If you listen to them together, the first syllable is intensely odd. Quote
