Has italki.com been blocked?

Haven't been able to get onto italki.com for the last couple of days. Has anyone else had issues? Has it been blocked?

Sure seems so.

 

All praise Mr. 11 for doing the hard work of blocking almost any way to contact with the outside world, even for the language practice! True Chinese patriots don't need to learn foreign languages.

I have a student in Shenzhen who says she can't book on it. She had this problem before, then she switch browsers and it was okay, but now she can't do it on anything. I also have a tutor in a little village up north somewhere who says she couldn't before, now she can, but the response time is slower. It appears that whatever the blockage is, it's patchy and intermittent.

Well, I can still open it on my iPad, but not with my laptop, on either Firefox or Internet Explorer.

Well, unblocking would of course be better, but the longer it's blocked the less likely that becomes.

I guess the serious tutors on there will use anti-GFW software but for casual language exchange this could be a real downer.

I tried accessing it yesterday and couldn't get on. I just tried then and it seems OK now.

 

Weird. I wonder why they would have blocked it in the first place.
