New Members Laura Yuegui Posted November 5, 2014 at 02:23 PM New Members Report Posted November 5, 2014 at 02:23 PM As a newbie opening a new thread I need to apologize if this subject was already mentioned before and I didn't find it. In order to further my study, I am looking for a manual or a history of modern and contemporary Chinese literature in Chinese, better if Simplified. I tried 中国文学, 五洲传播出版社, but it's like 200 pages, it resulted being a bit too cursory, so to say. Ebook or paper book 都行, thank you very much! Quote
gato Posted November 5, 2014 at 03:47 PM Report Posted November 5, 2014 at 03:47 PM For recent mainland literature, I thought 钱理群's book was pretty good. For earlier pre-1949 literature, you can try a Chinese translation of CT Hsia's book "A History of Modern Chinese Fiction". The edition published in mainland is a censored version. http://www.amazon.cn/gp/aw/d/B0011AVZGG/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?qid=1415202051&sr=8-5π=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70 中国现代文学三十年(修订本) http://www.cup.columbia.edu/book/978-0-231-12990-9/c-t-hsia-on-chinese-literature http://www.amazon.cn/gp/aw/d/B00116G21I/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1415202618&sr=8-1π=SY200_QL40 Quote
