Can anybody say anything about which time is shown in this panel? Or when this was probally made? I assume almost no lacquered panels were made during the Mao era or the civil wars and japanese occupation preceding the Mao era. So it is either older (Qing Dynasty or older) or younger (post-Mao 1980?). Is this right, or an oversimplification? To me it looks like an image of a local court of a chinese lord. They are playing Go in the background and there is a dance performance with music for the lord on the left. This is all I have until now. Any input is appreciated! Quote
