How to say "for me"?

How would you translate the word "for" in the sentence "it's easier for me because I am English". That's just an example but I can never find a good translation for the word "for" in these sentences. A Chinese friend said to me they the Euopeans speak better English than Chinese people and I wanted to say "for them it's easier because the languages are more similar" and I couldn't find a good translation for "for them". I used 为 but I don't think she understood because she thought I meant to say 因为. Any ideas? Thanks :)

To my understanding, 为 or 为了 is mostly used in the sense of "I do that for you" (我是为了你做的).

In your example, I may be wrong but I think there's no direct translation.

It's easy because I'm English 很容易因为我是英国人 (for me is implied)

In my point of view it's easier because I'm English 对我来说,比较容易因为我是英国人

I'm English so it's easier 我是英国人所以比较容易

As an English, I learn faster 作为英国人我学得快一点

for me = 对我

做这个对我很难。

But as #2 said above, there are more natural ways to phrase what you mean.

This could be a case of the blind leading the blind, but here's my two cents.

More or less what abc said with my own take on how you might phrase the basic idea.

In the second example you gave I'm pretty sure you could use 对他们来说学习英文比较容易因为他们的母语很像英文。。。

(Dui4 ta1men lai2 shuo1 xue2xi2 ying1wen2 bi3jiao4 rong2yi4 yin1wei4 ta1men de mu3yu3 hen3 xiang4 ying1wen2)

For them, study(ing) English easier because their mother tongue is similar to English.

Some ideas just don't translate well. Best of luck.

P.S - Didn't read the post properly haha. wumaoge pretty much covered it.

P.P.S - Thanks too ironic.

Don't try to translate English phrases into Mandarin! It is much better to be thinking in Mandarin directly. Wumaoge gave you some good ideas how to express that thought in natural-sounding Mandarin.
