m000gle Posted November 24, 2014 at 06:51 AM Report Posted November 24, 2014 at 06:51 AM I apologize, in advance, for starting yet another Chinese Government Scholarship thread. However, I have a question which, as far as I can tell, hasn't been addressed in other discussions, and one which doesn't apply specifically to any particular year's application:Is it possible to apply for and receive a Chinese Government Scholarship, a second or even multiple times, provided each one is in a different category than any awarded previously? For example, I received a two-year CSC scholarship (language student category), and subsequently returned home to finish my original degree. Upon graduation, or at some point in the future, it would be amazing to return to China to pursue Masters and/or Ph.D. graduate study. Will my (language student) CSC scholarship make me ineligible for a (Masters/Doctoral) CSC scholarship; or, do the different categories make it possible to be awarded a scholarship, for a second time?In some ways, this is quite particular to my own situation; but I would be shocked if others haven't wondered the same thing. Similarly, a lot may depend on the sponsoring agency, school etc; but I am still curious what others here have to suggest. I will still be looking into city and university-specific scholarships, and private financing if necessary; but knowing whether this is still a possibility is quite helpful when planning my future.Any thoughts, personal experience, anecdotes etc would be greatly appreciated Quote
fanglu Posted November 24, 2014 at 11:38 AM Report Posted November 24, 2014 at 11:38 AM A friend of mine, Vietnamese, got it for both a bachelors and masters degree, so it is possible. Quote
Angelina Posted November 24, 2014 at 05:13 PM Report Posted November 24, 2014 at 05:13 PM It is possible. I did exactly what you are planning to do. First time for my language studies at BLCU, second time for my master's at Zheda. Both times nominated by the same agency (embassy). No 关系. Quote
m000gle Posted December 2, 2014 at 09:39 PM Author Report Posted December 2, 2014 at 09:39 PM Great! I'm happy to hear that it's not only possible, but that others here have done precisely what I'm hoping to. Thank you very much for the responses Quote
lambilyforever Posted November 22, 2015 at 10:47 AM Report Posted November 22, 2015 at 10:47 AM Hi I was hoping this thread is still active. In addition to the question posted in this thread, I wanted to know if it's possible to apply for two consecutive times. I am currently in a CSC scholarship right now for language study, I plan to do my MA and apply for CSC next year again. Thanks in advance. Quote
ZhangKaiRong Posted November 27, 2015 at 09:19 AM Report Posted November 27, 2015 at 09:19 AM @lambilyforever Yes, it's possible, several of my language-learning scholarship classmates did the same, and most of them (7 out of 9) received the MA scholarship. Quote
