ZDT doesn't start anymore on my computer - solutions?

Hi ZDT-users!

 

I've been using the programme for some months on my Windows 8.1 laptop and was very happy with it. But some days ago it didn't want to start anymore. Every time I try to start it, the programme icon appears, then the progress bar on top of it, and then everything disappears and I can't study! 

I've tried to turn off my antivirus programme and the firewall before starting ZDT, but it doesn't help. Also a re-installation of the programme didn't make any difference. 

 

Did someone have the same problem and found a solution? I would be very grateful for advice.

Hi Annika, do you have any error message? Can you look also in zdt's user folder, ie. c:\Users\[you]\zdt\ for zdt.log and user.log and send it me or post it here (zip it if it's too big)?

Hi, 

there is no error message. I have attached the zdt file. I had to copy the content into a word document because I wasn't allowed to attach an editor document. The "user"-file is empty in my case.

I also noticed that when trying to download and re-install the programme again, my antivirus programme (avast) was always alarmed and deleated some content of the programme. But also here it didn't help to turn avast off while doing download and installation.

Can you attach avast's warning (screenshot ot log)?

(What) Did you change something on your computer beetween Dec 8 at 10:03 and Dec 9 at 23:08? Did you update some programs i.e. Java or Antivirus or something else?

Hi, I am very happy, somehow the second or third installation I did yesterday works normally! Even my vocabulary is there.

so now after some months of good function, I'm having the same problem again. New installations or shutting down my antivirus during start of the programme don't help. Any ideas?

ok so this is really strange. After I uninstalled one of the other installations, it was working again. So I hope the programme will continue working for a loooong time now!
