Learn. also: I've often heard that you need about 2000 or so characters to read a newspaper... i now suspect that this is misleading, since you also need to learn the various 2-character word combinations to make any sense of the writing, right? (ie the characters for "tong zhi" make sense to mean "comrade" if you think about it, but if you saw the combination for the first time they would be difficult to interpret and match up to the English translation ) That is why we learn vocabulary also. Should be: 4. click add 5. select all grade level 0 6. write them down, copy them into the clipboard and then into NJstar and then write a list for that grade and when you're done with that you can begin rote memorization, Quote
Harpoon Posted May 23, 2005 at 01:18 AM Report Posted May 23, 2005 at 01:18 AM why into NJstar? sorry? and how do you force the results to be in traditional form? Quote
nipponman Posted May 23, 2005 at 11:43 AM Author Report Posted May 23, 2005 at 11:43 AM Njstar is the best Chinese wordprocessor that I could find around. Go into the help menu of Njstar and select Traditional, all characters will become traditional. (Beware that there are some characters that are simplified and that still exist in traditional and will therefore not be changed.) Quote
