Nicoletta Posted January 23, 2015 at 08:29 PM Report Posted January 23, 2015 at 08:29 PM Hi everyone! I'd like to study for one semester (X2 Visa) in Shenzhen at SZU, but in the meantime I'd also like to visit Hong Kong and Macau during the weekends, so in order to re-entry China I would need a temporary residence permit. I know I'm not required to obtain a permit in the first 30 days if I enter with an X2 Visa, but my question is: can I obtain one if I want to? Many thanks in advance to anyone who may help Quote
leeovisa Posted January 29, 2015 at 05:46 AM Report Posted January 29, 2015 at 05:46 AM If it is an X1 long-term study visa, you need to have it changed to a 1-year or longer Residence Permit for Study within 30 days of arrival. It is a multiple-entry visa. If it is an X2 visa, you don't need to do it, though. But if it is a one-entry visa, you cannot use it when coming back from HK or Macau. Quote
roddy Posted January 29, 2015 at 09:34 AM Report Posted January 29, 2015 at 09:34 AM You need to make sure you get a multi (or 2 entry) X2 visa, so be specific on your application and check when you get it. This is possible - see here, for example. It'll be more expensive. Quote
Nicoletta Posted January 30, 2015 at 07:56 PM Author Report Posted January 30, 2015 at 07:56 PM Thank you everyone for the precious advice. I will try to obtain a multi-entry Visa, even if it's not a sure thing, as I read here: http://www.chinese-forums.com/index.php?/topic/45222-multiple-entry-x-2-visa/ Quote
