Quick Forum Translation Needed

Hello, everyone!

 

I am in need of a quick translation from the forums at baidu.com.

 

~ Story ~

So I downloaded a compressed file from a forum post. I want to extract the compressed file, but I need a password for it. I've tried asking the owner for the password, but they told me to look at the community rules for instructions on how to find the decompression password. I've  managed to find the community rules with the use of Google Translate, and also which rule is the most likely to contain the clue to the password.

So... here I am now!

This is what I need an English translation for:

According to Google Translate and a few other online translators, either the title of the post or the link is the password. I want to confirm whether this is accurate or not.

@imron: I did try both, and also a lot of other combinations, prior to making this post. Unfortunately, none of them worked so I wanted to make sure that I didn't misunderstand what the password hint said. ^^

"链接所在帖子的名称" -- I'm not sure how to parse that.  Would it be "the link that is located in the name of the post"?  So it's not necessarily the title of the post, but potentially just part of it?

 

Also, isn't "解压" technically incorrect?  What is wanted is the decryption password, not the uncompression password.  [i know encrypted data are often compressed, but those are technically two different features.]

@jbradfor: I think "解压" means "decompress(ing)" (and 解压密码 = password for decompressing the file)

If you don't speak Chinese, are you sure you know what the title of the post is?

If the title of the post is in Chinese, perhaps you have to write the pinyin.

Or perhaps you have to use a Chinese version of Windows or of the decompression program.

Thanks everyone for the translation! The password was indeed in the title of the post - it was just that my file extractor didn't accept Chinese characters as the password.
