实行24 小时工作制。车队利用夜间进行运输,及时卡车卸货,保证在18个小时内完成整个运输过程。

I thought maybe 为 is 把,as in ' 及时卡车卸货 but someone said no, it is just in Chinese we 'unload for the truck'.  Gf also said it is '为。。。。卸货‘

If I write ' 及时卡车卸货' would that be wrong?

Yes, it's wrong, because the point of the 把 construction is that it signifies something is being done to the object. In this sentence, nothing is being done to the 卡车 itself. You could say, though, 把货从卡车上卸下来.

This seems to be an interpretational difference. Do we 'unload the truck' or 'unload the goods from the truck'. Chinese sees the latter, whereas English allows the former. 卸货 already says 'unload the goods'.

'Unload the truck' means 'unload (the goods from) the truck', so the former is a shorthand way of saying the latter.

Actually, 'unload the truck' is ambivalent. Imagine the truck is loaded on a ship, or train. The Chinese are, once again, more perspicacious
