lanicaa11 Posted April 17, 2015 at 09:33 AM Report Share Posted April 17, 2015 at 09:33 AM Hmm, okay, so is there any competition for chinese governement scholarship in ur country? So this number is not connected with EU window scholarship. They are seperated. So croatia opened like competition for chinese scholarship saying, chinese governemt is giving 13 scholarships .. U should look either at site of your ministry of education or embassy, if they r giving any scholarships

Nnedi Ugo Posted April 17, 2015 at 10:33 PM Report Share Posted April 17, 2015 at 10:33 PM I just heard back from them yesterday that I was awarded the Chinese Government Scholarship candidacy and that I need to send it back to particular email address and the school email address as well or mail a copy to a specific address. I applied directly to the Embassy in DC and after I sent in my application, I waited a week to call and check on whether they received my application or not. The lady told me that she would call me back. A week later, she called me back to say that she has it but I was missing my recommendation letter, but I told her since I am just applying as a non-degree chinese language student, that I don't need to have a recommendation letter. She asks me "Where does it say that?" And I told her on the CSC website. She seemed confused, but later said ok and we hung up. That convo shows that embassies do not exactly know all of the requirements. They are just the middle man between the applicant and the CSC headquarters in Beijing. I sent my pre-admission letter to the email address they supplied to me and now I am playing the waiting game. I feel as though my situation for school is different since I applied for a study abroad program through my school in the US where I would have to pay these extra fees while everyone else applied to their schools directly on their website. I hope this works out for me.
TETTEH EMMANUEL Posted April 17, 2015 at 10:50 PM Report Share Posted April 17, 2015 at 10:50 PM Hi has any one of you applied directly to a university in China under the chinese government scholarship scheme
洋人丹 Posted April 18, 2015 at 12:43 AM Report Share Posted April 18, 2015 at 12:43 AM @Tetteh Emmanuel Yes, what's your question? Edit: Just a suggestion to anyone wanting to post in the thread, if you have a question like "Has anyone applied to _______?" You can expand a bit, let everyone know what it is you want to know. This way you can get help quicker.
TETTEH EMMANUEL Posted April 18, 2015 at 06:29 AM Report Share Posted April 18, 2015 at 06:29 AM ok . my question is did u need a pre-admission letter to aa=pply directly and have u heard anything from them so far
洋人丹 Posted April 18, 2015 at 07:47 AM Report Share Posted April 18, 2015 at 07:47 AM @Tetteh Each university is different and it would be best to contact the university to find out. For example, I applied to Fudan. You had to apply first to the school and get accepted (not pre-admissions, but actually admitted) before applying for the scholarship through the school. The deadline for applying to the scholarship was April 6th, so it will be awhile before I get any answer I imagine. Contact your school or look on their website to find more information about how they do things, that's the only way to be sure.
Bjnsharp Posted April 18, 2015 at 08:06 AM Report Share Posted April 18, 2015 at 08:06 AM I applied for xi'an jiaotong. I didn't need to apply for pre admission letter first. I guess they will include that when they forward my application to CSC. They said they would notify me at the end of the semester which I think is the beginning of June. EvaJ Posted April 18, 2015 at 04:47 PM Report Share Posted April 18, 2015 at 04:47 PM Hey guys! I'm applying for the Chinese language program (as i haven't graduated from uni yet). I've read that it is not necessary to write a study plan (but I have written it anyway), then you need to get the pre-admission letters (which I have received some acceptances letters from certain unis which i will include in the application form) and that recommendation letters are not needed (but I have two from my professors). Anyone out there is applying for the Chinese program? I'm just trying to get more chances to be selected! Good luck everyone
