洋人丹 Posted May 31, 2015 at 12:17 PM Report Share Posted May 31, 2015 at 12:17 PM @bientai Well it's good that you've been nominated! I applied to the scholarship through Fudan, but haven't been contacted. My application status on CSC just changed to checking today, so that's a good sign right? Anyone know? Good luck to you Bientai!
HFK Posted May 31, 2015 at 12:24 PM Report Share Posted May 31, 2015 at 12:24 PM yes, application status changing to checking is a good sign as far as i know
bientai Posted May 31, 2015 at 08:04 PM Report Share Posted May 31, 2015 at 08:04 PM @洋人丹: After re-submitting my form and being confirmed by Fudan that all is OK now, my status also changed from submitted to checking. So, I suppose it must have something to do with university's nomination. Probably now CSC is considering this nomination and that is a good sign. Gsx1992 Posted June 1, 2015 at 03:17 AM Report Share Posted June 1, 2015 at 03:17 AM I spoke to a student studying a masters through English at the university and he told me the following: 1. You will have basic Chinese classes for the first semester. 2. There are 2 students per bedroom and 2-3 bedrooms per dorm. 3. You can move out of the dorms and BIT will supply you a small amount of extra money(1000 RMB), rent in Beijing appears to cost 2500~ RMB / Month
洋人丹 Posted June 1, 2015 at 03:21 AM Report Share Posted June 1, 2015 at 03:21 AM @bientai I just got an e-mail from Fudan as well saying I've been nominated. Yaaay, I can stop freaking out now. I'm just going to assume nomination means I got it and won't get denied by the CSC and no longer worry about it.

Although I am happy for the nomination, I will not get up to cheer yet.The weird thing is that I do not even know the Fudan result yet. How about you? BIT did not send me a pre-admission letter and did not request me to pay the application fee . 洋人丹 Posted June 1, 2015 at 12:38 PM Report Share Posted June 1, 2015 at 12:38 PM @bientai I got accepted to the uni on April first. Just wondering, what program did you apply to? If they accepted you for the scholarship, I'm sure that means you are going to get in to the program.
Guest Ines Posted June 1, 2015 at 01:03 PM Report Share Posted June 1, 2015 at 01:03 PM Hello, guys! Could you help me out, please? It was mentioned earlier that if you applied directly to more than one uni, they all can forward your documents to CSC, but CSC will choose only 1 university for you. Does that mean that I don't have a say in which uni I prefer more when the documents are already sent to CSC? They will decide for me? Thank you for your help. ajkihn Posted June 1, 2015 at 02:18 PM Report Share Posted June 1, 2015 at 02:18 PM @Ines I've read post from the past years and this topic was there, according to what I understood, here is what I know: 1. If all universities that you applied nominate you they will send the documents to the CSC. 2. The university or universities that nominate you will notify you about this. 2. CSC will chose only one university for you to attend and I'm pretty sure it will be the first one that nominates you. 3. The CSC will notify you which university you will atttend and will send what you need for your visa application. So, the first step is to know if indeed you were nominated by one of the universities you applied for to know about it, you can check their websites, many publish the nominees and others will contact you via e-mail. Good luck

DongLian Posted June 1, 2015 at 03:11 PM Report Share Posted June 1, 2015 at 03:11 PM Oh yeah Masters students get a lot more!! So you should be good.. I always think in terms of language student as that's what I'm doing hahah. I hope that if I go, I go to my first choice or second choice schools in Anshan and Dalian respectively. My third choice in Hangzhou is nice, but Hangzhou is soooo hot for me anyway. I was there before to teach English.. granted, that was summer but still. I live in the NE USA and will be moving to Canada when I come back from China (husband is Canadian). I like that cold weather. I was more worried about weather than a lot of other things haha. I feel like for a language program you can go anywhere, if you put hard work into it.. it will be a good experience. Masters programs matter a bit more though for obvs reasons. Good luck all! I hope to keep reading about people's master's program experiences as I might pursue that in the future.
katecheng Posted June 1, 2015 at 03:12 PM Report Share Posted June 1, 2015 at 03:12 PM Guys, hello again! Is there anybody who applied to Sun Yat-sen University? My status has been updated at the beginning of May already, at the same time my classmates, that applied to SYSU with me, got rejections. I didn't get any letter from SYSU, no confirmation, nor rejection. I am so confused about this university. If they send "We regret to inform you..", so there should be "We are glad to inform you..." right?
bientai Posted June 1, 2015 at 08:21 PM Report Share Posted June 1, 2015 at 08:21 PM @洋人丹: I applied for EMA Chinese Economy (M.A). I did get an e-mail a while back stating "Congratulations on passing the examination of Fudan University! The admission notice will be sent at the end of the June or the early July." and my application status changed to Application Status:please wait for the final result, but that is about it. I didn't think this would exactly mean I have been accepted though. @Everyone: Does anyone know who CGS works if you come with a partner and can not live in the dorm? In the case of Fudan, can you get any subsidy for off-campus rental?
