anonymoose Posted February 17, 2015 at 08:50 AM Report Posted February 17, 2015 at 08:50 AM Don't take it so personally. This is the internet. Noone here knows each other. I'm sure most of these comments were just light hearted. It might help though if you acknowledge and respond to what people have said, some of which has been very sensible, rather than just repeating your viewpoint over and over again. Otherwise it seems like you are deliberately trolling, and inevitably will court the kind of flippancy shown here. 2

savah Posted February 26, 2015 at 07:02 PM Author Report Posted February 26, 2015 at 07:02 PM It is clarified that 'Zhong' represents roughly 'jhong', thus China in Chinese should be pronounced as 'jhongguo', never 'jhoongguo'. In other words, the medial of 'zhong' should sound 'ong'. not 'ung'. If this point has been pointed out earlier in the thread I was involved in, everybody would have emerged wiser much earlier. But no one knew better. As for the confusion, I explain that the 'zhong' played tricks to my ears to sound sometines 'jhong' and other times 'jhoong'. Thus I had asked here about the confusion. 1
savah Posted February 26, 2015 at 07:43 PM Author Report Posted February 26, 2015 at 07:43 PM I wonder if anyone edit my draft edition because i was surprised to find the posted edition seems different from the draft, which I wrote along following my thought. Is my surprise a false or real one? Please anyone clearing up my confusion? 1

jbradfor Posted February 26, 2015 at 09:47 PM Report Posted February 26, 2015 at 09:47 PM Has ANYONE emerged wiser?
lechuan Posted February 26, 2015 at 10:11 PM Report Posted February 26, 2015 at 10:11 PM The problem with most romanization schemes is that people will say/understand it differently, so they don't know what pronunciation you mean. But I'm glad you figured it out! It takes time to train the ears to hear the sounds properly.
Kobo-Daishi Posted February 26, 2015 at 10:54 PM Report Posted February 26, 2015 at 10:54 PM It's like Yogi Berra's "deja vu all over again" moment. ;-) We must be in a time loop. Like Bill Murrary in Groundhog Day. Will the horror never end?!?!?! Kobo.

savah Posted February 27, 2015 at 11:09 AM Author Report Posted February 27, 2015 at 11:09 AM Hi, folks, how could it be so that most of you couldn't but act like those who haven't ever had your own father, who commanded due respect from you? I call you all sons of bitches. Now how do you feel? You must feel bad. You make it so that I feel as bad as you, even more than that. What did I do wrong? The confusion about 'zhong' was driving me mad. Now that the confusion was cleared up, say, a new discovery I've had, I have reported it. Yes, it was a discovery. No one here said it like that for sure. Wat do you know about Chinese so that you act so flipppant and irreverent to an octogenarian? Am I an idiot that you cal me that? As for Chinese, you are all dwarves, compared even to kindergartners. Is there a native speaker of Chinese here? So the blinds talk about Chinese each other here? It is like a boat floating without an anchor. If there was one native speaker of Chinese here, such a bedlam as we'd seen could not ever happen. The place is out of control. I've never been to a place where the administrators do act like here as opposed as they are supposed to act. We are all human beings, not beasts. Burying hatchets, if any, let bygones be bygones. Let us be human beings and be friendly to each other. 1
