Baidu account confirmation HELP

Recommended Posts

Posted

Hi everyone. A while ago I've registered a Baidu Webmaster Tools account and now I found out that the account is almost 100% useless if I don't confirm it. Confirmation for foreigners is almost impossible because they require a Chinese phone number (probably cell phone) and a QQ account which I have no idea what it is.

Can anyone from China help me confirm my Baidu account? I have attached a screenshot so anyone can see what I need to do in order to confirm my Baidu account.

Thanks

If it works like 12306, then a phone number can be linked to only one account. So anyone who gives you their number may be unable to register later themselves. Further, they may get text spam and have to deal with occasional confirmations sent to that number. 麻烦 Mafan!

Just to explain why folks aren't lining up to help.

I doubt Baidu sends spam. It's a huge search engine from China. In Europe you can buy a prepay SIM card for like 4 euros (with 4 euro credit) which you can use for conversations, texts, internet, whatever you like, after you finish your credit, you can either throw away that sim card and buy another one with a new phone number OR you can recharge it with credit. So basically you can change your phone number as easy as 1 2 3 just for some 4 euros.

I don't know how it is in China but if its as easy as in Europe, I can pay someone who is willing to help me the expenses of having to buy a new sim card with a new phone number.

Can you help me activate my Baidu account? And if so how much will it cost me? I can send you the payment via PayPal.

Cheers

Lots of businesses use "registration" to collect email addresses and phone numbers and use them and sell them for advertising. Naive to think otherwise.

Perhaps someone here will be willing to buy you a sim card, who knows. But if you need to receive a code by SMS, now or later, with that sim card while you're in Europe, there will be a problem: Chinese prepaid sims don't work outside China unless you make a prepayment to the telco of about 500RMB.

Indeed, hopefully the onw willing to help me, will keep that SIM card for a week or 2 to see if any more messages are sent by Baidu. After that, if after 1 year or whatever Baidu keeps sending SMS with codes or whatever to that number then it's no one's fault and I won't blame anyone. At least I've tried...

As for the email. Now that's the least of all the problems, because I have an email that I already use on Baidu and besides I could make another one anytime. So the issue here is just the phone number.

Hey listen, if you're from China, why don't you help me? I will pay for the SIM card...
