dwq Posted February 21, 2015 at 12:30 AM Report Share Posted February 21, 2015 at 12:30 AM Don't let 冠軍 fool you, it is not a competition, just the name of the performance appraisal / evaluation, and all managers (plural, and whom 都 is referring to) who is able to outstandingly fulfuill its requirements will be rewarded. Pedroski Posted February 21, 2015 at 12:50 AM Author Report Share Posted February 21, 2015 at 12:50 AM Thanks! So just change 'winner' to 'winners' and 'manager who fulfills' to 'managers who fulfill'?? Or is there more wrong??
dwq Posted February 21, 2015 at 01:14 AM Report Share Posted February 21, 2015 at 01:14 AM It's not a competition so there are no winners. And 出色 refers to 完成 not 經理 (outstandingly fulfill, not outstanding manager competition). It is similar to an exam, students who pass with high marks (ie. outstandingly fulfill requirements) still wouldn't be 'winners' of the exam. dwq Posted February 21, 2015 at 01:22 AM Report Share Posted February 21, 2015 at 01:22 AM (edited) Additionally, we don't 檢測 people, so 冠軍檢測 is not referring to a selection of champions among managers. [Edit: added below] 检测 comes from 检验测试, examine and test. You measure some attribute of an object and compare against some metric to evaluate the object's quality. While both "我檢驗他" and "我測試他" sounds okay, you don't hear "我檢測他" in Chinese, perhaps because you can't just measure a person and then assign him a simple score of his 品質. http://baike.baidu.com/view/66302.htm Edited February 21, 2015 at 03:12 AM by dwq
Pedroski Posted February 21, 2015 at 01:41 AM Author Report Share Posted February 21, 2015 at 01:41 AM I'll give you the paragraph for clarity: Thanks for your tips! dwq Posted February 21, 2015 at 02:35 AM Report Share Posted February 21, 2015 at 02:35 AM Googling "肯德基" "冠军检测" turns out that it is probably this. Not sure it is CHAMPS, CHAMPSCHECK, or CHAMPIONS, anyway it's buzzword-ised -- there's no mention of sales 销售 in the word. http://www.adfcompanies.com/about/champs/ http://www.kfc.com.my/quality-assurance/ To restaurant managers who outstandingly fulfill the annual sales and management "C.H.A.M.P.S." appraisal demands, the company will afford a special courtesy.
