You know,when you want to translate some words in chinese,you should put them in sentence. There are many different meanings about one words in different case. 东西吃通: i think it means "someone can handle something perfect in anywhere." yes, in this case "东西" is Eastern and Western, just emphasize that degree. if i think "东西" means something,i'll translate it in other way. "something i can understand clearly." But to be honest, we can't use this word in common. Quote
